BA World Cargo sweeps the board at CIFFA Awards (08/05/2007)

BA World Cargo enjoyed a triumphant evening at the recent Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA) Awards, winning four awards including 'Carrier of the Year' for the third consecutive year. It is the fourth time BA World Cargo has received the honour, having also been named 'Carrier of the Year' at the CIFFA Awards in 2003.

BA World Cargo was nominated in seven out of the nine categories this year and in addition to 'Carrier of the Year', was voted 'Carrier of Choice to Europe', beating Air France KLM Cargo and Lufthansa Cargo, 'Carrier of Choice to Africa' and 'Carrier of Choice to the Middle East'.

David Shepherd, vice president commercial the Americas, said: "This is an outstanding result for BA World Cargo. These awards recognise the impressive work of the Canadian team, the high calibre of sales people within the business and the consistently strong relationships we have built with our customers. We are particularly delighted to be recognised in the European category as the award highlights the value our customers have gained from the recent investment and expansion of our shorthaul freighter programme".

Members of CIFFA vote for airlines based on their professionalism, service, innovation, partnering and commitment to the forwarding community.

The central division of CIFFA held its annual event on April 19 2007 at the Mississauga Convention Centre. The association, which will enjoy its 60th birthday next year, seeks to provide its members with high quality professional services, representing and supporting them in the international freighting industry.
